CITY OF CONWAY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER DEACTIVATES, MOVES TO OPCON 2
City of Conway is now operating at OPCON 2. The Emergency Operations Center is no longer activated. Crews will continue to complete any damage assessments and clear debris.
All facilities will return to normal operation on Saturday, October 1.

SOLID WASTE COLLECTION UPDATES
Solid Waste collection will resume Monday, October 3 . Trash collection that was cancelled Friday, September 30 will be collected Monday, October 3.
All Monday routes will be picked up as regularly scheduled. Please keep in mind that Solid Waste crews will be running extended routes and your trash pickup may be later or earlier than usual. Please have your rollout carts and debris by the curb at 7:00am.

CONWAY CITY COUNCIL DECLARES LOCALIZED STATE IN ANTICIPATION OF IMPACTS FROM TROPICAL STORM IAN
The City of Conway held an Emergency Meeting on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 10:30am via zoom. Conway City Council passed an ordinance declaring a localized state of emergency to go into effect immediately. This declaration allows appropriate actions by city officials to address emergencies affecting life, health, safety or the property of the people.

The City of Conway has moved to OPCON 2 – Enhanced Awareness, emergency plans are being implemented. The City of Conway Emergency Operations Center is now partially activated. Full activation of the Emergency Operations Center is expected by Friday, September 30. City officials will continue to monitor conditions in our area and work with our local, state, and federal partners.
Please continue to monitor weather conditions by trusted sources and prepare your family, home, and business for potentially dangerous tropical weather. If you live in a low-lying area, please be prepared to leave your home. If you are not sure about areas that have seen flooding in the past, maps are available HERE.

All Youth Athletics are cancelled from Thursday 9/29 through Sunday October 2. This includes Tackle, Flag, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Cheerleading and Volleyball. This includes Tiny Tigers scheduled for Saturday.
Kids Carnival scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2022 will be held in conjunction with Smoke on the Waccamaw BBQ Festival on Saturday October, 15, 2022.
