CONWAY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Police Chief's Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Conway Police Department’s website.  Conway has a rich history dating back to colonial times.  Established in 1732, Conway is one of South Carolina’s oldest towns.  Due to its location and historical connection to the Waccamaw River, Conway is often referred to as the “River town.”  Located just 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach, Conway encompasses over 22 square miles and is home to approximately 18,000 residents; it is also home to Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College.

Our agency consists of 61 trained, professional and dedicated personnel who continuously strive to provide the highest quality police services to our citizens and visitors alike. The men and women of our department embrace the community-oriented policing philosophy and believe it takes all community stakeholders together to build a better community. Our goal is to continue to make Conway a great place to live, visit, shop and dine, while maintaining the quality of life for which Conway is famous.

I hope you will find this site both informational and helpful and, as always, we invite your comments on how we may better serve you.  To that end, I encourage you to take a few moments to complete a “Citizen’s Survey” located on this site.

Sincerely,

Reginald E. Gosnell

Chief of Police
