If the tree is protected or considered a landmark tree, you will need a permit regardless.

No, all tree related permits are free.

The permit will expire six months after the issued date.

You will need a permit if:

• The tree is a Live Oak
• Greater than 30 inches in diameter measured at 4 ft 6 in up from ground level.

There are different rules and regulations that apply to commercial and residential properties.
