I want to have an outdoor event on my property or on someone else's property. Do I need to get approval by the City to do so?
The City of Conway Code of Ordinances requires a “Special Event Permit” to be approved and obtained by persons/organizations who wish to hold, manage, conduct, aid, participate in, form, start or carry on any parade or public meeting or assembly or picketing, in or upon any public street, park or other public grounds. A Special Event Permit is also required for events held on private property within the city that may expect a large crowd, impact on the neighborhood and/or city services, or require other permits such as zoning, signage, etc. Applications for Special Event Permits should be filed no less than 30 days prior to the date of the proposed activity.

Do I need a permit to build a fence, a shed, a pool or a hot tub?
Yes. A permit is required for any accessory structure, including a fence, shed, pool or hot tub. Even preconstructed sheds purchased at a retail store like Lowes required a permit prior to being moved onto your property. This is to make sure that the shed is properly constructed, that it meets the setbacks for your lot and that it does not need to be made of a specific material depending upon its size.

Who is responsible for the maintenance of the ponds in my neighborhood?
Typically, the ponds are the responsibility of the Home Owners Association for the Community. In the event that there is no HOA, the ponds are still usually the responsibility of the community to maintain.
