MAYOR BARBARA BLAIN-BELLAMY ISSUES PROCLAMATION DECLARING MAY 2022 GUILLAIN-BARR SYNDROME (GBS) AND
CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DEMYELINATING POLYNEUROPATHY (CIDP) AWARENESS MONTH
GBS and CIDP are rare, paralyzing, and potentially catastrophic disorders of the peripheral nervous system, and these disorders are characterized by sudden onset of severe weakness and paralysis of the legs, arms, face, and muscles required for breathing, chewing and swallowing.
