Conway Receives its 38th Tree City USA Designation

At Monday's Conway City Council meeting, Lois Edwards and Ann Huyler presented the City with the 38th Tree City USA designation on behalf of the The South Carolina Forestry Commission and the Arbor Day Foundation

To receive the recognition, our City maintains a tree board, has a community tree ordinance, spends at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrates Arbor Day. Wanda Lilly, the City's Arborist with the Planning and Development Department, oversees these responsibilities.

The designation of a Tree City USA gives the City priority for grant opportunities.

The City of Conway thanks Lois for 38 years as a Forester. Her assistance and guidance with Tree City USA has been invaluable. We wish you a very Happy Retirement.
