MAYOR, 3 COUNCIL SEATS FILLED IN CONWAY MUNICIPAL ELECTION
 
CONWAY, SC (November 8, 2023) – The City of Conway Municipal Election Committee held a meeting at Conway City Hall on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to review results and certify the November 7, 2023 election results.

Residents voted to elect the Mayor (1) and Three (3) city council seats and serve four years. The following are the official results:

Based on the official election results above, Barbara Blain-Bellamy (2,026) has been elected to serve as the Mayor of Conway.

Council Candidates in this election had to receive a minimum of 1,419 votes to win a seat outright. This number is figured by the total election votes 8,514 divided by available council seats (3) and then dividing that result by two. (City of Conway Code of Ordinances Section Elections 1-8-3c2)
 
The official election results above result in Hardwick (1,762), Jordan (1,967), and White (1,688) winning the three city council seats outright. There will be no runoff election.
 
Blain-Bellamy, Hardwick, Jordan, and White will take their Oath of Office tentatively scheduled for January 2, 2023 council meeting and begin serving their four-year term.
