Accommodation Tax Advisory Committee This committee meets at least once a year and at other times by call of the Chairperson. The committee has seven members, with the majority of members being from the hospitality industry of the city. Members serve a three year staggered terms. Successors in all cases shall be appointed for a term of three years and all appointments to fill vacancies shall be for the unexpired term. The committee makes recommendations to the city Council on the expenditure of revenues generated from the accommodations tax.

Community Appearance Board The Board reviews any alteration of the existing conditions of lands, uses or structures, including signage, within the Commercial Design Review Overlay District, the Main Street Corridor Design Review District, the Downtown Historic Design Review District and the Waccamaw Riverfront Districts 1 and 2. Meeting Time: Every second and fourth Wednesday at 4 p.m. The terms shall be four years and staggered.

Construction Board of Appeals This Board was established on January 8, 1996 to be comprised of those with experience in technical codes. Number of Members: Seven (7) members and two (2) alternatives which are appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three (3) years. Meeting Time: As necessary.

Conway Housing Authority This Board was established April 1967. Number of Members: Five (5) members which are appointed by the Mayor and City Council. Members shall serve five (5) year terms, except those first appointed. Meeting Time: The second Tuesday of each month, 5:30 p.m. Meeting Place: Commissioner's Conference Room, 2303 Leonard Ave., Conway.

Lakeside Cemetery Committee Committee members should either own plots within the cemetery, have a special interest in the cemetery due to family members buried there, or have an interest due to the historical significance of the cemetery. Cemetery Hours: During the months of November through March, the Cemetery gates will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from April through October the gates will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Members: Committee members are appointed by City Council and serve three (3) year staggered terms. Council may appoint one or more Council members to serve on the committee in an ex-officio capacity.

Municipal Election Committee This Board was established on January 8, 1996 to be comprised of those with experience in technical codes. Support Department: Building Department Number of Members: Members are appointed by the City Council for six (6) years. Meeting Time: As necessary during election years.

Planning Commission The purpose of this Commission is to plan for the physical, social and economic growth, development and redevelopment of the City of Conway. Number of Members: Members are appointed by City Council for three (3) year terms. Meeting Time: The first Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm.

Recreation Advisory Committee This advisory committee works with Parks & Recreation Department on a variety of quality of life issues. Number of Members: Seven (7) members which are appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three (3) years. Meeting Time:  Quarterly meetings are held at 12 noon. Meeting Place: Conway Recreation Center, 1515 Mill Pond Road.

Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Committee Committee members should have a special interest in the cemetery due to family members buried there, or have an interest due to the historical significance of the cemetery. Members: Committee members are appointed by City Council and serve three (3) year staggered terms. Council may appoint one or more Council members to serve on the committee in an ex-officio capacity.

Water Quality and Storm Drainage Commission Established by Ordinance #2004-06-28(F). This Commission was established for the purpose of providing input to City Council on issues pertaining to overall water quality and the management of storm water quantity and quality in the City of Conway. Commission shall consist of seven members, appointed by City Council, serving three-year terms, except those initially appointed who shall serve staggered terms. The expiration of terms is December 31. All members shall be eligible for reappointment by City Council for three-year terms. Members shall serve until their successors are appointed. Meeting Time: The 3rd Wednesday every other month at 6pm.

Zoning Board of Appeals This Board was established by the Zoning Ordinance which was enacted on March 12, 1962. Support Department: Planning Department. Number of Members: Seven (7) members who are appointed by the Mayor and City Council for three (3) years. Meeting Time: The fourth Thursday of each month, 5:30 p.m.
