Former Council Member Jean Timbes Receives Order of the Palmetto from Governor McMaster

Ms. Timbes was recently presented with the Order of the Palmetto award by Luke Rankin, member of the South Carolina Senate and Barbara Blain-Bellamy, City of Conway Mayor. 

Ms. Timbes served on Conway City Council for 20 years, retiring from her service to the city in December 2021. Ms. Timbes founded the concept for the city's "Celebration of Lights" and "Conway Critters" during her time serving on City Council. Both projects allow residents and visitors to enjoy the beauty of Conway in unique ways. 

Ms. Timbes is a retired "master" teacher of mathematics, musician, and long-term resident of Conway's First United Methodist Church. She is actively involved with the Conway High School Foundation.
